Servlex version 0.10.0

December 20, 2015

New release of Servlex, version 0.10.0. The most important changes are:

  • support for XQuery and XSLT 3.0
  • a proper package repo-aware class loader, to use extensions written for Saxon with no restriction in webapps
  • upgrade of all components (Saxon, Calabash, HTTP Client, etc.)

HTTP Client for Java and Saxon updated

An update of the HTTP Client implementation for Java and for Saxon have just been released, resp. versions 0.5.0 and 0.12.0.

The Saxon implementation is also available on CXAN at expath/http-client-saxon.

ZIP Facility for Java and Saxon updated

An update of the ZIP implementation for Java and for Saxon have just been released, resp. versions 0.3.0 and 0.8.0.

Packaging and repository updated

An update of the Saxon and Calabash implementation of the packaging system, as well as the generic implementation and repository manager for Java. The archive and the automatic installer are available in the download area.

Two new sets of Java classes have just been released: the EXPath Tools for Java and for Saxon.

Binary Module has reached 1.0

The Binary Module has reached the version 1.0 status. Thanks to the entire EXPath community, and thanks in particular to John Lumley, Jirka Kosek and Christian GrĂ¼n, the Binary Module has reached the stable status of version 1.0 in less than one year. Thank you all!

File Module Proposed draft

A new draft of the File Module has been released. This is a Proposed Module, so hopefully the 1.0 version is round the corner. It incorporates feedback received since the last draft, and contains a new test suite.

EXPath is a W3C Group

EXPath has been accepted as a new Community Group (or CG in short) at W3C! The page of the group contains more information. There is a new mailing list for the standardization effort that takes place in the group, and some specifications have been ported to the CG (where they are called "reports", following the W3C terminology). Everyone is welcome to join!

HTTP Client update

An update of the HTTP Client specification has been published. The namespaces have been adapted to the standard, some errors have been added, the serialization mechanism is based on the XSLT and XQuery serialization spec now, and a "revision markup" version, highlighting differences, has been created.

Packaging update

An update of the packaging specification has been published. The section "Concepts" has been rewritten, making clear distinction between concepts and the package descriptor format. A complete example has been added too. And a "revision markup" version, highlighting differences, has been created.

ZIP Facility

First release of the ZIP facility module. The specification has not been written yet, but a prototype implementation exists for Saxon, and some infos about the interface are available here and there. See the module page for details.
